To be totally honest, I’m a total sucker for history. In addition to all things related to Europe from the Dark Ages and forward, I personally grew up extremely excited to learn about the history of the Ancient Greeks and Romans; something about their construction of mythology in an attempt to figure out how the natural world worked just seemed to sweep my sixth grade self—who eagerly sat in the front row, in my high-watered faded blue jeans, a pen in hand, and a messily stuffed notebook on the desk in front of me—off my feet.
I'm also a Disney fanatic—I love all things related to myths that lead to childhood nostalgia. I also make several references to Disney in my blogs, as well. I also discuss Latinx and Shakespeare, in addition to 90's rom coms. I hope to parallel my interests in HumCore with topics that I enjoy; this blog is dedicated toward exploring and analyzing various works with creativity and curiosity.
In HumCore, we discuss both broad and general issues that pertain to our societies and our perceptions of other cultures and nations, and how we are affected by them globally. We focus on the theme of Empire and its Ruins.
